Biographical Info I was interested in science and art at an early age and always wanted to combine the two. As an illustrator and amateur naturalist I feel compelled to draw and paint my local fauna and flora. I intend to educate with art, and I continue to learn from the natural world by sketching outside locally, or by studying subjects in the studio. The part of the south shore we live in has estuaries, woods, and beaches; it is full of inspiration for an artist. My hope is that if people are more aware of the natural world around them they would be just a little more willing to be a better steward of it. The traditional media I prefer to work in is graphite and watercolor. I enjoy the range achieved by graphite – of sketchy textures, to sharp detail. Watercolor is something I always had a passion for as well, it does so many different things, there is always something new to learn, and I really prefer the cleanup compare to that of oil painting! I also work digitally in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Procreate.
