Many of these volunteers juggle full-time jobs, family responsibilities, and personal commitments, yet they still manage to dedicate countless hours to make each event a resounding success. Their unwavering dedication is a testament to their love for the arts and their belief in the power of creative expression.
From coordinating logistics to promoting the event, these volunteers wear multiple hats to ensure that every detail is taken care of. Their efforts do not go unnoticed, as each event organized by SBAA reflects their passion and dedication to fostering a vibrant arts community in the Bellport area.
What is Artists On The Lane?
Artists on The Lane is a cherished annual event that has become a cornerstone of the Bellport Community for over six decades. Each year, this artistic extravaganza brings together a diverse group of talented artists, each showcasing their unique creations across a wide array of mediums. The event serves as a vibrant hub for art enthusiasts, collectors, and families alike, drawing in thousands of visitors who leisurely stroll along Bellport Lane, soaking in the creativity and passion displayed by the artists.
What sets Artists on The Lane apart is not just the sheer number of artists participating but also the rich history and tradition that it embodies. For 66 years, this event has been a focal point of the community, marking its presence each July 4th, as a day of celebration and artistic expression. Over the years, Artists on The Lane has not only flourished itself but has also acted as a catalyst for the growth of other events in Bellport. The synergy created by this event spills over to other initiatives, such as the Antique and Flower sale organized by the Bellport Brookhaven Historical Society and Bellport Garden Club, adding to the festive atmosphere of the town.
As the day unfolds, Bellport comes alive with a palpable buzz of creativity and community spirit. The streets are abuzz with activity, not just from the art exhibition but also from the various accompanying events that pop up around town. From live performances to interactive workshops, the entire town becomes a canvas for artistic expression, fostering a sense of unity and celebration among residents and visitors alike.
Thank you to all the artists who exhibited, the Bellport Chamber of Commerce, and Bellport Village for allowing the tradition to continue. South Bay Art Association wouldn't be able to continue this July 4th tradition without you! See you next year!
