A Permanent Collection at Brookhaven Free Library

South Bay Art Association (SBAA) invites artists of all levels to take part in Sketchbook Project Volume 2, an exciting opportunity to contribute to a permanent community art collection at Brookhaven Free Library!

About the Project

This unique initiative allows artists to fill a sketchbook with their creative expressions—whether it’s drawing, painting, collage, mixed media, or written word. Once submitted, your sketchbook will become part of an interactive and inspiring collection at Brookhaven Free Library, where visitors can explore and engage with local artistic talent for years to come.

How to Participate

✅ Register: Secure your spot—only 24 sketchbooks are available!
✅ Create: Fill your sketchbook with original artwork—interpret the theme in your own unique style.
✅ Submit: Return your completed sketchbook by the South Bay Art Association’s annual luncheon in November to be included in the collection.

Important Dates

📅 Registration Deadline: March 16, 2025 (or while supplies last—only 24 books available!)
📖 Book Pick-up: March 19, 2025 at 6:15 pm before our March Membership Meeting at the Bellport Commuinity Center (4 Bell Street, Bellport, NY 11713)
📖 Final Submission Deadline: SBAA’s annual luncheon in November 2025
📍 Permanent Collection Location: Brookhaven Free Library
🎨 Open to All SBAA Artists: No experience necessary—just a passion for creativity!

I understand that my submitted sketchbook will become part of the South Bay Art Association’s permanent collection at the Brookhaven Free Library.

I agree to create original artwork in my sketchbook and ensure it aligns with the project’s theme and guidelines. I acknowledge that inappropriate or offensive content will not be accepted. I confirm that all artwork I submit is my own and does not infringe on any copyrights.

I grant South Bay Art Association permission to photograph, display, and share my sketchbook in exhibitions and online promotions.

I will submit my completed sketchbook by the designated deadline.

I understand that participation in the Sketchbook Project requires a non-refundable registration fee and to pick up the sketchbook at the designated time provided to me by South Bay Art Association.

This donation to SBAA will get you (1) Sketchbook to participate in the Sketchbook Project Volume II. This donation will help cover the cost for this opportunity and all expenses for it. Books will be distributed at our March 2025 Membership Meeting.
